We spent my favorite holiday, July 4, in Seattle. It was gloomy. I tried not to be mad about that. We had some fun doing our first fireworks, though! And delish food.
Cleo got her first haircut and looked like a completely different dog.

Adam laid down epoxy on the garage floor and we all love it so much. Weird the things that bring you joy sometimes.
After a two week quaratine at the beginning of July, we got in the car again and drove back down to spend more time in Utah and Colorado. And make a stop in Twin Falls, of course! The kids did a lemonade stand.
It was hotter than blazes and I was ready for it. I find that Seattle summers just don't do it for me. I need my hot, sweaty desert summer of the mountain west.
And I need to see my sister, obviously!
We actually drove all the way to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, for Adam's family reunion. We were hemming and hawing about whether to go or not but this road trip was all about seeing how long we could outrun Covid. We were careful and followed all the rules every step of the way. So.... the reunion was great and we looooooved seeing Adam's family (though, sadly, not everyone from his side was able to come).
We all stayed in a huge cabin in the forest. Here's the kids' table.

Adam's dad has a friend who flies planes and gave everyone a ride. I chickened out but everyone else had a great time.

After the reunion, we went to Roosevelt, Utah to stay with my parents. Since Adam has been working remotely since March, he can work from anywhere with WiFi. So he set up camp in my parents' office and we ended up staying for two weeks. Lots of chill time. Some on the melodica...
Went to their new bike park. Loved it.
We enjoyed a day at the Roosevelt City Pool .... and then it closed for two weeks because a staff member got Covid.
We went fishing at Paradise with mom and dad.
We all caught a few fish. We sent some back as well. They were all medium sized.
We kept four to eat. YUM.
Did some slip and slide with the neighbor kids.
Heather and her girls came out for a couple days and we laughed so hard we cried. Lots of good stories.
We took everyone swimming at Cottonwood Reservoir.
July 24th in Utah is Pioneer Day and celebrated very much like July 4th. So we bought a ton of fireworks and let it rip!
We went back to Paradise with Roger's and Heather's families this time.
It was freezing and windy and we spent a lot of time in the car entertaining ourselves.
Sienna forgot to wear proper clothing, so she wrapped herself in this blanket. Hahahhhaahah.
We finally ventured outside to start a fire and roast all the food.
We told the kids they each had to share a talent before they got any food and little miss Millie said, "My talent is holding Cleo!" Hahah. She is too cute. And so talented!
These three had no problem entertaining themselves in the car.
Heather made a hole in two and we were impressed.
