Family Pictures Oct 2020

We had photos taken of our family last October and I wanted to document it here. My kids both had massive growth spurts last year and I just have to freeze this moment before I blink and they become full grown adults.

They are wonderful kids. They have been so resilient this year as they've been forced to stay home and do school online and play with only a couple friends. They have really rolled with the punches.

DECEMBER 2020

Adam got us season passes to Snoqualmie Summit ski resort. It has been a great way to cope with feeling very cooped up this winter. Here's hoping the resort can stay open and we can keep going! The kids are at a good place with their skills and it's been so fun so far.

Tailgating is the new Apres Ski. Nobody gets to be in the lodge these days except to use the bathroom, so we pack hot soup or noodles in our thermoses, a giant jug of hot cocoa, plus loads of snacks and treats. It's been fine so far. If we get truly cold, we can turn on the car and sit inside for awhile.

We've had a couple gorgeous, sunny days, and we've had a couple rainy, dark days.

Treat one...soda cracker toffee. Holy crap yum.

Treat two...shortbread. Kinda yum. I need to perfect my recipe.

I zoomed in on these really cute photos of Noah.
He was really hamming it up for the camera.
Around Christmas time we drove around and saw some nice lights. It has snowed one evening so far in Seattle and this was the night! Pretty fun to see the Space Needle like that.
The Macy's star was saved from certain demise by Jeff Bezos and ... um.... turned into a Seahawks star?? Super weird. But maybe that's the only thing Seattle has to be proud of these days?? Adam said, "We know who Seattle worships." Haha.
Just another random sunrise pic while I'm walking the dog.
We went to get our tree at the usual place.

Kids and their pj's and their dog in a sweater. CUTE.
I made mint brownies for neighbors.
We did some gingerbread house building and decorating as a family.

Adam's mom sent her amazing shortbread. It's all I want at the holidays. It's sooooo good.
Christmas Eve homemade gifts: Sienna made these reindeer rootbeers for Adam
Noah made this card for me.

I made this notebook for Sienna.
Adam made a bunch of hilarious JibJab videos for Noah.

We went skiing with some friends on Christmas Eve day and I don't have any pictures...they must all be on Adam's phone. We made our crab and shrimp feast for dinner plus I went big on the candles and flowers. And....this is the only picture I have to show for it. I was so hungry, so the food came before the pics!
Christmas Day!
This was the first Christmas the kids didn't get toys or Legos or dolls or stuffies. So weird! It was a NINTENDO Christmas plus socks and bathrobes and toothbrushes and books. No complaints! They were thrilled with the added screen time fun.

All I care about is the food, as usual, so let's take a moment to enjoy the cinnamon rolls and bacon.

Merry Christmas!
