October

Fall in the PNW is a magical time. The colors are exquisite.

Sienna and her neighborhood buddy Cameron playing at the park.

Adam went to Denver for a weekend to go to a Broncos game with his dad and brother.
We drove down to Portland for a weekend to hang out with my brother who was there visiting friends. We stopped at my beloved Powell's Books.
Owen's friend Renato side-eyeing my choice of cookbook. No regrets!
Adam fell for this book about owls.
 Siblings in a bookstore. Hi.
We went to a pumpkin patch and corn maze together. Good times! Except for that atrocious corn maze. Never again!

Always good food in Portland.

We brought our pumpkin pickins home and carved them.

Not to be outdone by the kids, I carved a cat and Adam carved a side-eye and we were very proud pumpkin parents.
Halloween celebrations started at the church for a trunk or treat and carnival/games. I was in charge of "Pin the Nose on the Witch" game.

Halloween night was the park celebrations. Really, the best time of year to live in our neighborhood. Nice people volunteer to pass out candy all around the park, the kids get to play at the playground with their friends, we all get free hot cider, and then this year we actually hit up a few houses afterward.
Sienna and her friend, Hanah, and her dog Daisy. Sienna is obsessed with this dog.
Our neighborhood friends, Lori and Andrew and family.
 Friends Rebecca and Max.
Some of our Lux friends just moved back to Seattle! Woohoo! They came to walk around with us.
My mom and dad even showed up just in time to get in on the festivities! Really fun to have them here for a few days.

We went apple crazy at the UW farmer's market. Donuts, too.

Made my fave French apple tart.
Taught the kids Rummikub and Sienna loves it!
These guys went to the Seahawks game...
while mom and I strolled the Japanese gardens.

September

September brought:

A concert at Marymoor Park : Ben Folds and Cake, two of our all time favorites.

First day of school for me (second year of design school, and yes, I went school clothes shopping for myself....dang, I wish I'd bought that sweater afterall).

And first day of school for the kids: 3rd grade for Noah, 5th grade for Sienna. Eternal youth for their school mascot, Ollie the Orca.

I guess the kids and I baked something? And I felt the need to document it?? I think it was pancakes. These two are getting really good at cooking/baking and not needing so much assistance!

My niece, McKenna and her husband, Kallen, visited us for nearly a week so she could perform with her band, The Aces, at Bumbershoot music festival. She got us backstage passes and it was fun to feel really cool for a day.

Dinner at No Bones Beach Club and dessert at Salt and Straw. A perfect summer date night!
Adam finished the patio!!! He worked so hard on it for many many months and we got to enjoy a few family BBQs on it before fall set in.

Adam participated in a Cure MS bicycle race fundraiser that his friend organizes each year. Fun group of guys and wives. The kids and wives and I hung out for a couple days at an Airbnb while the guys sweated it out.

The kids and I spent a day at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup. We'd never been before and it was huge! Wow. The Utah State Fair was pretty small in comparison. We rode the rides, ate a turkey leg, cotton candy, and ice cream. Sienna ended the day with a massive ear ache. Too much fun for one day!
